It started simple enough. A nice day out to the Seahawks-Giants game, as my fiance has been a Giants fan all of his life. When arriving at Qwest Field, there were the usual “pokes” about how bad the Giants are, and some laughs.
When we went to our seats, two men were sitting there, and we asked them to move. That’s when it began. “Did you pay for these seats? You’re Giants fans.” After telling the man yes, we had, he laughed, and moved to another area. Of course, there is no denying that the Giants played a terrible game that day, but was it necessary for this one individual to constantly come up behind us when the Seahawks scored, and yell, at the top of his lungs, directly in our ears? To consistently yell profanities directly at us? And on top of that, to continuously hit, and I mean physically hit, my fiance in the back of the head, each time the Seahawks scored?
This was very disappointing to me, as I am really not much of a football fan, but have enjoyed going in the past. Of course, representing an opposing team isn’t going to get the best of compliments from loyal Seahawk fans. However, to be treated like this is just unacceptable. And after this experience, we will never return to Qwest Field.
For those of us who can behave like adults, and refrain from being rude, inconsiderate and downright physically mean, I must say – we are much better people for it.
