It’s a shame that there was yet another death and several injuries as a result of the collapse at the ice caves, but honestly, what does it take for people to get it!? There are signs all over the place telling people not to go into the caves. With temperatures having been in the 80-to-90-plus degree range for several days, one might think that people would understand that the ice would be melting and unstable. With the exception of one young person, all the rest injured and the unfortunate death were all adults who should have known better. The U.S. Forest Service has now been forced to close access to the caves “indefinitely” (translate “forever”) due to the actions of a few, so now nobody will be able to enjoy the caves, even at a safe distance.
