A recent Herald story noted lawmakers were “looking for more revenue ideas.”
According to the Department of Revenue’s news release webpage, Snohomish County’s 2016 sales were up 7.7 percent, and its trade up 6.9 percent — the third highest of the top 10 Washington counties.
Lynnwood’s sales were up 9.7 percent and its trade up 7.6 percent, eight-highest of the top ten state cities.
Remind me again: What was our local inflation rate?
So, my esteemed elected officials, why am I not reading headlines like, “Government piling up savings while holding the line on spending”?
