Schmidt, Sax clear choices for county

This November the voters of South Snohomish County have a unique opportunity to bring new leadership to a body that desperately needs it: the Snohomish County Council.

Over the past four years our county taxes have been getting higher while our traffic has gotten worse. Council chair Dave Somers is now running for re-election on this record of “success.” Candidate Dave Gossett is an analyst for the county council and is supported by the very leadership that has failed us.

Dave Schmidt and Jeff Sax offer a better way. Both Dave and Jeff have strong values and clear priorities: unclog traffic, protect public safety and keep housing affordable. They both realize that these goals will not be achieved unless council members have the courage to limit spending in some areas to fully fund essential county services that will improve our everyday lives.

Jeff Sax has real-world experience working with businesses to help keep our environment clean. Dave Schmidt has an outstanding record of service as both a state representative and a member of the Washington Army National Guard. The choice is clear, Dave Schmidt and Jeff Sax are practical leaders with the ability and experience to make our county a better place to live and work.
