Being a resident of Marsyville, I have followed with interest the newspapers’ investigative reporting of alleged wrongdoing by a newly elected council member Mr. Tom Grady. What I, my friends and neighbors find upsetting is both the city and county found it necessary to withhold possible felony charges being considered by law enforcement personnel until after the election and to treat this as no big deal.
To keep this as a secret from voters suggests that we are just stupid and do not have the intelligence to make sound decisions. It’s now Mayor Dave Weiser’s desire to swear into office Mr.. Grady, weeks before his term is set to start, which is an unusual action not particularly endorsed by all council members.
Residents of Marysville above all expect openness, honesty, trust and truth in every elected official who serves as our representatives. In my judgment, this whole scenario casts suspicion of other motivation and is behavior not acceptable to Marysville residents.
