In my view, Mr. George Longstreth of Lake Stevens has come up with an excellent idea about the Kimberly-Clark mill site for the city of Everett. (Sunday letter, “Rare opportunity sits with K-C land.”) As he says, it is a golden opportunity for the people of this area and beyond to breathe new life into downtown Everett. Yes to possible ideas of a major mall, shops, movie theaters, hotels, condos, and a park for everyone’s enjoyment.
The list of ideas goes on and on. Better these kinds of ideas than just a site for continued heavy manufacturing along Everett’s waterfront. Mr. Longstreth has really hit upon an idea that can do much for the city of Everett. I would hope the city fathers give it some serious consideration.
