Self check-out bad for workers

I would really like to see a boycott started against self-check out stations in grocery stores, hardware stores, and even banks. This is reducing the number of available jobs for employment. More and more grocery store chains, as well as hardware chains, are leaning toward this type of service so they can reduce their employees and save money by not paying wages, medical, dental, retirement, Social Security, and unemployment benefits.

Banks seem to be following suit, getting people used to working with ATMs inside the banks. One day they will have only one teller at a bank monitoring the transactions of dozens of stations for deposits and withdrawals. Not only is this type of thing de-humanizing in that we will no longer deal with people in our day-to-day transactions, but it also facilitates higher unemployment rates. I personally avoid these types of machines; as I tend to like the human interactions and do not want to see a higher unemployment rate. I do realize that the people who use these type of transactions are trying to make money. It might be easier accomplished by lowering of prices and selling more product to the public as a result of lower prices.
