The Senate confirmation hearings for Alberto Gonzales for attorney general offer the Democrats the opportunity to shine some light (and heat) upon the administration’s actions and inactions regarding prisoner abuse.
It is my sincere hope Democrats in the Senate manage a better campaign than with the John Ashcroft hearings nearly four years ago. This situation might also provide avenues into other problem areas for the current administration, such as the outing of our intelligence asset and the general lack of transparency (and accountability) with this White House. I look forward to these hearings with great interest and hope for the future of America.
