Lakewood voters need to make our voices heard at the school district about “Renewing Our Commitment” (the Lakewood schools’ tag line for the February levy). What are we renewing? Unsafe bus transportation? (Fortunately, I now have a teen driver). It has been unsafe for my kids to ride the bus!
Curriculum that is so limited that last summer and next summer my college bound teen will be taking classes at Everett Community College to meet his needs? As I understand it, if you have a question about the upcoming years’ high school curriculum you must request a meeting with the high school principal. And what are “classroom based technology enhancements”? Vote no. Let the board know we do not need to renew. We need to rethink.
