Senior project raised money for shelter

My name is Carly Ingalls, and I am a senior at Everett High School. On Dec. 6, I held the Santa Paws Walk at the Everett Animal Shelter for my self-directed project, which is a component of the culminating exhibition. The Santa Paws Walk was very successful. More than 110 people attended, and more than $440 was raised for the animal shelter’s Fund for Animals.

I would like to thank the community for all of its support. Donors to the event included Everett Vet Hospital Inc., the Broadway Animal Hospital, TLC Pets and Pet Pourri. Thank you very much to these generous businesses who provided a lot of fun raffle prizes.

Thank you also to the many people who volunteered their time at the event. These volunteers included Kirke Sievers, who donated his time as Santa Claus. To John DeWispelaere, manager of the shelter, thank you very much for letting us use your space. Other people who deserve my utmost thanks for providing me with assistance include Rich Weiss, Tim Trosvig, and especially Barry Martin, my mentor for the project. Thank you again to everyone who helped to make this event a success. The animal shelter will be putting the money to very good use.
