Where were you on May 4, between 7 and 9 p.m.? We were at Senior Citizen’s Prom Night at the Marysville Pilchuck High School. If you weren’t there, you missed one of the most wonderful events of the year. The decorations were unbelievable, with balloon pillars, stars hanging from the ceiling, and colored strobe lights. The music was from the 50s and 60s, presented by a disc jockey.
It was something many of us will never forget – bringing back the memories of when we were young. The young men and ladies were so gracious and polite as they came to our table and asked us to dance. Many of us hadn’t danced in many, many years and we had a laugh and maybe even a tear at the memories of our own school days.
And who do we have to thank for all this? It started with a wonderful idea of Sarah Vargas, a senior in the Leadership Class. As one of those that did attend, we want to say a big thank you to the Leadership Class at Marysville Pilchuck High School, to the many students who participated, and a big thank you to Sarah Vargas. Senior citizens of Marysville, you truly enjoyed a night to remember.
