“The Last Smokestack” series was a wonderful tribute about the workers and closure of the mills. It is a sad comment on so much of the United States of America with so many families and businesses that have gone away. I read with great interest all the stories, each one so meaningful, with memories of now a bygone era.
I think this well-done series should be submitted to Brian Williams on his “Rock Center” NBC TV show. The series and writing and photographs were all first class, but sadly an era is ending. I also enjoy the stories of special people you have featured and the dog stories, great reporting and a refreshing change. Thank you.
