Berkeley, Berkeley, Berkeley.
Could someone please help me understand the thinking of this city and it’s anti-American views. I was in disbelief after hearing of the Berkeley Fire Department’s decision to remove the American flags from its city’s fire engines, in fea of a bunch of hippies in a “Stop the War” rally last month being insulted.
I may not hear every piece of news, but up till now was unaware that the United States had begun a war. What a confused and contradictory bunch! Was it not the same type of men and women who fought for their First Amendment rights years ago, which allows them to hold peace and anti-war rallies? In thanks to all of the American soldiers that fought for this, Berkeley decides to protest against them. Unbelievable! In my opinion it’s time Berkeley got up to speed with the rest of the country and showed a little compassion and American pride.
In this time of sorrow and need, the rest of the country and world have come to the conclusion that unity is the only surviving force against hatred and terrorism. Why can’t they? Listen up, Berkeley: It’s time to shed the long hair, tie-dye shirts and beads and show a little American pride.
