I read the article from Sheriff Rick Bart about maybe having to cut animal control. I am very pleased to say that I had the opportunity to meet with him and to find out that animal control is going to stay (at least for this year) under his control.
He needs more officers in order to cover the large area . Three officers were temporarily cut a few years back but never replaced.
Why make the laws if you don’t maintain the officers to enforce them? I came away from talking to our sheriff with a very good feeling about how our county is handled. He is short-handed in both police officers and animal control officers but he does a pretty good job with what he has.
