Sheriff Fortney is risking lives of county’s residents

I would like to formally file a complaint against Sheriff Adam Fortney. He has made statements on Facebook that he will not enforce the governor’s rule of isolation as the CDC requires. He is deciding to not enforce the state law that is in place and risk the lives of the people he has sworn to protect. He has taken his uninformed political option about Covid-19 and chosen it above state law. This is not the actions of a civil servant of Snohomish County.

The United States has the most deaths in the world due to lack of response by the federal government to the Covid-19 virus. I have a small business as well, so I know how much this hurts. The rest of the world is dealing with the same stay in place isolation as well as social distancing. The sheriff has chosen to insult Gov. Jay Inslee with his statements even though Washington has had a better response and outcome than most of the other states. Fortney is risking the lives of people who through no fault of their own must deal with the desperate people that will once again spread the virus.

It is my opinion that Sheriff Fortney is not responsible enough to hold the office of Sheriff of Snohomish County.
