I know this will probably fall on deaf ears – in fact I’m pretty sure those involved don’t read the editorial page of this newspaper – but I’d just like to thank those model citizens who decided that Walter E. Hall Park on West Casino Road would be the perfect place for their (probably drug-related) shoot-out. Thanks to them, my stepson’s Little League team can no longer play at this field. In fact, he is even afraid to play on the playground at his own school, miles away.
I seem to recall reading that the West Casino neighborhood had made great strides in cleaning up the criminal activity that had been commonplace in its past. Apparently there’s still quite a bit of work to be done.
