I’ve read about the tens of millions of dollars being spent for extra security for the Trump family.
The protection of the president and his family is necessary but in my opinion there should somehow be a limit on how much we can spend on a billionaire’s well being. Some of the extra cost should be borne by him.
Recently President Trump hosted China’s president Xi Jinping at the Southern White House, Mar-a-Lago. I’m wondering what the extent of security was there. Patrons of the club have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for the privileges of membership, which includes golfing and dining in some proximity to the presidential party. When members enter the facility are they searched for weapons, wanded when they have had joint replacement or banned from bringing in more than 4 ounces of liquid or aerosol cans of sunscreen? Are their purses and bags searched for nail clippers or pocket knives? If not, why not? If so, how do they like being treated like that?
