It’s interesting to note that I’m not the only one experiencing ice and snow on the sidewalks. I live in South Everett and walk quite a bit. We are being discouraged from driving in this mess, so some of us walk. Last week the snow plow dumped all the icy, dirty snow onto the sidewalk, making it a frozen, lumpy place to walk. I think it’s pretty thoughtless and shows that “who cares about the pedestrians, the highway is more important.” It is not. The sidewalks were installed for safety and convenience and for people who prefer to walk — to the bus stop, the stores, or just to get some exercise. Now it’s a week later and I’ll be walking again, trying to maneuver my way through the frozen clumps of snow. Surely the plow drivers can do a better job; I’m sure they’re well compensated.
