After almost 50 years behind the wheel, I have arrived at some ideas that may help our terrible traffic problems.
1. No one under 18 drives. Period.
2. Vehicle horsepower cannot exceed driver’s I.Q.
3. Cost of car tags should match the vehicle’s horsepower.
4. Price of gasoline should be the same here as in rest of the world.
5. I-5 and I-405 should be tollways, 25 cents each time you get on, to pay for road repairs and free bus service.
We would have fewer people killed, (how fast can you go with 80 horsepower or less). Pricy car tags would encourage smaller, practical cars and $4.50 a gallon would make carpools attractive. And surely four guys in a VW Bug would have a quarter between them for the tollway.
