Again I see Tim Eyman in the paper and, as usual, the smear campaign continues.
The politicians, using the local unions and media, are still out to teach Tim, and anyone else who would oppose them, a lesson.
How pleased they must feel, money well spent on a political hitman able to find the dirt on Tim. Their only disappointment is that he confessed first!
These politicians would have you believe that stones would rain from the heavens and the world would end tomorrow if taxes were not raised!
The fact is, our local politicians are reluctant to seek tax dollars anywhere but from the already overburdened public. We’ve made clear our concerns about constant tax increases but they continue to take the “Father Knows Best” attitude.
Was what Tim did right? I don’t think so, his dishonesty hurt his credibility and a lot of loyal supporters. But Tim has done a lot for the people of this state and deserves a second chance. Whether Tim decides to continue his efforts or whether the public wants him, he has shown the way and other anti-tax groups are sure to follow.
The real question is: do we want the same politicians?
