I had an unusually entertaining time in early March. I attended four musical events in one week. I went to see “My Fair Lady” in Seattle. It was a nice presentation. I then had the pleasure of attending three musical events in Snohomish County.
I attended the Everett Symphony. Prior to the concert, which featured a captivating 15- year-old pianist and later some talented young musicians from our own Kamiak High, I attended a free lecture by Dr. Cobbs. It was wonderfully informative. After the concert, the entire audience was invited to a wedding reception for Dr. and Mrs. Cobbs. In Seattle no one from the musical pit gave me the time of day, let alone invited the entire audience to a party.
A few days later, I attended a beautiful concert sponsored by Evergreen Coffee House in Marysville. A gifted young couple from Maine gave an outstanding three-hour concert for only $5. They sang their own songs, some of which moved me to tears. It was truly beautiful. No one from “My Fair Lady” met the crowd and personally thanked each one for coming.
I took a friend to see “Driving Miss Daisy” at the Village Theatre. What a treat that was. We had excellent seats, could see the expressions on the actors’ faces, hear every word and didn’t have to pay $18 to park.
Don’t miss out what is taking place right here. Snohomish County has so much to offer.
