After years of being pro mass transit (and still am), why am I voting no on Proposition 1?
It’s simple: I-NIMBY! As in, It’s-Not In My Back Yard.
Just how can I vote on spending $47 billion on a mass transit bill that doesn’t even get to the fourth largest city in Pugetopolis — Everett? The light rail stops just south of Everett, but this “brain trust” can’t figure out how to get this into the downtown core and mere five-plus miles farther north?
Get light rail to Everett, then we’ll talk.
