It seems to me that if the county has an extra $250,000 laying around to help a multi-billion dollar company celebrate the unveiling of their new aircraft, they should also have enough money to help finance other much needed county projects. Our county roads are a mess, perhaps the county could donate another $250,000 to help rebuild U.S. 2, where our residents are dying on an almost weekly basis. I’m sure Fred Walser and his group would appreciate the donation.
As for deputy county executive Mark Soine and his double-speak/non-speak answers to the County Council’s questions, perhaps he’s better suited to work for Boeing rather than our county. Possibly even a job in D.C., where those kind of answers are the norm. His unwillingness to answer simple, direct questions from the council seems a bit arrogant to me, but what do I know? I’m just a simple red-neck country boy, who votes.
