We don’t need to use tactical nuclear weapons against the deeply entrenched and stubbornly suicidal Taliban to duplicate our stunning success in the Balkan War to free Kosovo. U.S. air power is very capable of conducting more than 2,000 sorties per day against the Taliban once we establish bases in the area.
At home we should be going all-out to develop and manufacture much more powerful non-nuclear versions of our deep penetration bunker buster bombs so we can blow up all the caves where the Taliban may be hiding. Lightly entrenched and surfacing Taliban can be eliminated with a massive escalation of the use of BLU-82s, 15,000 pound bombs that incinerate everything within 300 to 600 yards. Larger, spread-out numbers of Taliban can be eliminated with the awesome fireworks – like cluster bombs delivered by waves of B 52s.
If we go 24/7 with the heat of air-power turned to extreme high we should have it wrapped up and kill all the Taliban with up to 600,000 bombing runs by next summer. It sound like overkill, but we’ve just got to swallow our pride and do it. Zero U.S. soldiers died in battle to free Kosovo. No American soldiers need to die to win this war either.
