I’m dragged down by the events of Memorial Day. My political awakening came in 1968 when I landed in Vietnam. When I left 13 months later I was a changed man. Utterly eradicated was any trust in government at the national level.
Now here we are doing the exact same thing again (no quibbling). All over again are Marines being killed in an utterly useless conflict brought about by some stupid quasi-religious, political, economic view of a few well-bred rich people running the country with complete disregard for the Constitution or simple human decency, for the economic benefit of their own kind.
So what if it costs the lives of some poor saps. They should have gone to Yale or Harvard.
