Some can’t vaccinate for health reasons

This is in response to a recent letter to the editor about covid vaccinations. I’m getting a little tired of being discriminated against and looked on as being a heartless person who doesn’t care about our community. Have all who have written against the unvaccinated ever take a moment to think that for some getting the covid shot could have very serious consequences? Yes, for the majority of people the covid shot has prevented the spread of the coronavirus and saved lives. But some people are medically exempt from receiving the vaccination due to serious effects it may have on their lives: such severe allergies for all vaccinations.

Those who are medically exempt from the vaccine are not ignorant or have a lack of consideration for others. We just don’t want to have the serious health effects and we wish to spare our families from grief. Most of us try to be very careful when we do go out in public, staying away from those who may be sick and try to avoid large crowds. And should one of us have to go to the emergency room we should not be treated as a pariah. We should be able to get the best medical care possible. After all we are already discriminated against by not be able to attend sporting events, concerts, restaurants or many other activities that we use to enjoy.

I know there are some people who just don’t want to get the vaccine. Please stop putting everyone in the same category. For the medical exempt it could be a matter of life or death.
