Somers angling for Reardon’s job?

In Tuesday’s Herald, Snohomish County Councilman Dave Somers came out with a press release and was the one reporting to The Herald instead of Council Chairman Brian Sullivan or Vice-Chair Stephanie Wright; is this proper protocol? Councilman Somers should have done the same as Councilman Gossett by keeping his comments to himself until the Wednesday meeting. Is Dave Somers putting himself out in front of the story to keep his name in the running in case Reardon resigns?
