One of the great challenges of any City Council candidate is to find time to get out and meet the voters. For those who may have missed meeting Lake Stevens City Council Candidate Mark Somers in person, I would like to introduce you to him.
For the past year and a half, Mark has attended nearly every City Council and Planning Commission meeting. Along with his work at the city of Everett, he is intimately familiar with the operations, departments and issues of local government. Also, Mark’s meticulous note taking and understanding of procedure is truIy miraculous. I can ask Mark about a vote from two months ago, and he can go back to his perfectly organized notes and tell me who voted how.
To Mark, all voices and opinions count. I have seen him quietly listen to an ardent environmentalist and then turn and listen to the developer … always intent, ingesting.
Most of all, Mark Somers is one of the most sensible and thoughtful human beings I know. For Mark, nothing is spoken until all sides are heard. No decisions are made until all consequences are considered.
Mark’s skills include effective dialogue, experience and insight with our city’s issues, and an energizing passion for this place and the people who live here. Please vote for Mark Somers, Lake Stevens City Council, Position 4.
