Although this is not a well-known election year because we aren’t electing a new president, locally, there is a lot going on. That is why I am asking for your support in re-electing Dave Somers for our county council representative in the 5th District. The majority of voters elected Dave Somers four years ago because people became aware and knew the county needed to do something different. Our communities then were facing struggles with traffic and over-development. We are still feeling the effects of those decisions four years later. Dave Somers has taken many positive steps in dealing with these issues and wants to continue solving problems for you.
Just recently the council adopted changes to our traffic laws, which will predict more accurately how many more cars will be on our county roads when a new development is being proposed. And that means a development won’t be built if it will add too many cars on a road that already has too many cars. Or else, the developer and/or the County will have to prove that money is available to improve the road conditions to handle more cars. This is a positive step in the right direction.
Dave Somers has a great track record and works well with both sides to find solutions. He is honest, hard-working, easy to talk to, and puts Snohomish County and its people first.
Please vote for Dave Somers for county council on Nov. 6. Remember to think globally, but act locally.
