Al Gore is sounding more like a president these days, talking about “ballots that were never counted. Not even once.” Unfortunately that president is Bill Clinton. Gore is talking about ballots that registered no vote for president when counted by machine (twice). I suppose, as Bill would say, it depends on your definition of “count.” If those votes were never counted, how does Gore know exactly how many there are?
Nationwide, 2 million votes lacked a legible vote for president. Al Gore won by only 300,000 votes. If you agree with Al Gore that all those votes were never counted, then you must agree that no one really knows who really won the popular vote. Furthermore we will never know because the margin of victory was lower than the margin of error in tabulating ballots.
If Al Gore ever wants to be president he should start by telling the truth. Of course, that depends on your definition of truth.
