Regarding Herald writer Steve Powell’s April 24 article, “King County to condemn Brightwater sites”: King County plans to condemn property in Snohomish County out of sheer kindness by sending an ordinance to the Metropolitan King County Council so they can buy the land before all the decisions are in. The article mentions that King County Executive Ron Sims has plans for them to sell it afterward, if the situation changes. This has a diabolical ring to it, perhaps for developers already lined up. Does Sims intend to get it cheap from the shackled serfs while holding plans to sell it later for princely prices?
Brightwater is not a good neighbor, it’s a pirate sailing the sewage sea. It seems Mr. Powell is getting his lopsided information directly from “The Sims pirate ship.” The information that about 63 percent of the waste will come from south Snohomish County has been contested many times as an untruth! We, in south Snohomish County, don’t need Brightwater. They need us, it appears, perhaps to line their pockets?
