I ran in a 5-kilometer race recently at Seward Park in Seattle. The benefits from the race went to help the homeless. The plaque at the park shows that Seward Park was built by the WPA in 1935-36, during the Great Depression. Today we are wasting about $10 billion every month on a questionable war in Iraq and we and other countries are in a serious economic downturn. Where are our priorities? Let’s quit the war and start another WPA so we can build more Seward Parks instead of wasting billions on a war.
