For the second year in a row, through our Adopt a Family program, employees and the owners of Hampton Lumber Mills have partnered to support local children and their families in need during this holiday season. Twenty-four families, identified by local community and church organizations, will receive toys and a glorious food basket as a result of the generous donations and year-round fundraising efforts of the Hampton Team.
Special recognition is owed to several area retailers, who joined in the spirit of community giving. Brenda, Linda, Big John and Reggie of the Costco Burlington location donated their time and personal vehicles to transport the non-perishable items to the staging area for food baskets. These private sleighs logged over 100 miles and were bursting at the seams with over 500 food items. Thank you, Costco Santa Helpers.
Thanks also to JC Penney and KMart for their discounts on toy and gift purchases, making each donation stretch just a little farther. Special mention should also be given to Darrington IGA and Albert’s Red Apple in Concrete for their support of the program through discounts on perishable food items.
The spirit of the season is alive in the Northwest. Thank you to all who gave time and treasure to this special program this year.
