Last week, I decided to stop at the Mill Creek‘s Sno-Isle library.
First, I was acknowledged and addressed by an employee with this phrase “welcome to Mill Creek’s Library.”
Secondly, I surveyed all the staff behind the counters, one of my habits these days, and I was fully surprised.
Thirdly, the staff was a true reflection of the diverse population of the city of Mill Creek, and the patrons were very multicultural.
It was refreshing to observe and listen to library’s personnel interact with the public. The staff was kind, caring, respectful and helpful to ensure that your needs are met.
I was pondering to myself the city hall of Mill Creek is less than a mile away, but, like being on two different planets, one planet hit the mute button and the other planet has embraced change.
As I was departing from the library a gentleman from behind the counter said, “This is the best place in the city of Mill Creek.” Yes, he was spot-on with his comment.
If you want to see diversity in action from the staff side and the public side, I challenge you and your family visit the city of Mill Creek’s library and celebrate diversity in action.
