I attended the International Women’s March this January, I noticed there was a myriad of issues being represented. Most participants did not have just one reason to stand in the streets. A multitude of new organizations are building from this action. I found that there are local groups building peaceful, and socially inclusive coalitions to work for social justice.
I have seen the news stories of the bomb threats, and vandalism being perpetrated against the Jewish and Muslim communities. There is no valid excuse for such acts of intimidation. It is up to us all to stand beside the targets of hate and violence. The hatred of the few in the night, must be stopped by the daylight support of the many.
We are a nation based on acceptance and hope, we must never forget.
