The YMCA in Stanwood has had to close its lap swimming pool weekdays, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. due to lack of swimmers!
Remember how hard everyone worked to persuade the Y to come to Stanwood? How many surveys were taken, how many people got on board to build it, how much money was raised?
The pool is gorgeous, huge, clean, well staffed with lifeguards. You can take swimming lessons at the Y. Some insurances pay for membership at the Y. Everyone who comes to the Y, later goes back out the door smiling.
You can call or go to staff there to ask about this. You can go swim during those hours in a single lane in the exercise pool for now. You can tell your swimmer friends.
Please don’t disappoint the Y’s supporters and donors by letting a good thing go away. It’s for us all.
