What a great way to start the day on Sept. 18. The Herald should be complimented for reporting the “news” that actor Alec Baldwin will leave the United States if George W. Bush wins the U.S. presidential election, (“Basinger moves by her man”). The actor’s wife, Kim Basinger, was quoted as saying, “Alec is the biggest moralist that I know.” That statement alone defies logic. Here, I always thought that a moralist was someone who practices morality. Their acting careers leave much to be desired where morality is concerned. But, what the heck, if a Bush win means they’ll both leave the country, I can hardly wait to cast my ballot.
