A Herald article about the third count of our state’s votes for governor raised several questions. It stated that the signatures on some absentee ballots did not match the signature on the registration form. Then it said that it should have been matched to the original registration form. How many forms are there?
The article also said that some errors were made such as having votes marked for both candidates. Does that mean that the voter can now decide which candidate he wants? That would appear illegal after other votes are in.
Another article said that Democrats wanted to eliminate the Electoral College because Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote in 2000. Without the electoral vote a few large states such as New York and California could swamp the rest of the states. Our votes in Washington would be insignificant.
