How ironic the monorail in Seattle broke down three times in nine days. I find this so bizarre, especially since we are weeks away from voting on Referendum 51. Perhaps I’m just imagining things. Don’t be surprised if the monorail breaks down more frequently the closer we get to election day. Don’t be fooled by the apparent manipulation by those who desperately want to tax us to the maximum.
These are desperate times for Olympia, they will try anything to convince us they need more of our money rather than learning to prioritize and budget like average citizens do everyday. I may be mistaken, but don’t we already pay more in gasoline tax than anywhere else in the country?
Take a look at the R-51 Web site, it gives a breakdown of where our money will go to if it passes – a lot of the money goes to “pre-construction” projects. It also reveals that most, if not all, projects can not be completed without more money from taxpayers, so Olympia will force more taxes on us in the future to complete these projects.
Vote no on R-51. We can work to find alternatives to this referendum. Many conservative and environmental groups are already working hard for an alternative solution to our traffic problems.
