The costs of attending college have become increasingly more difficult throughout the years, creating hardships for many prospective students including myself. More specifically, one of the hardships others and I face are not only the stress of unaffordable tuition, but also all the other financial burdens that need to be considered. These things could include factors such as transportation, text books, supplies, student fees, and housing.
All these extra considerations add up to play a large role in the decision of whether or not to attend college.
I think the state needs to expand financial aid for students because the overwhelming amount of cost leads to many people opting out of higher education, leading to a less educated society as a whole. I think that every person should have the opportunity to experience further education, but not many can afford it. With the help of financial aid, students that face more hardships than others could have the chance for opportunities they may have never been able to afford before.
