Three new bills aimed at reducing the number of lawsuits against the state show there are people who think they are above the law (HB 2352, SB 6427; HB 2353, SB 6428; and HB 2354, SB 6429).
Gov. Gary Locke and Attorney General Christine Gregoire feel that those who are employed by the state are in fact some of those people.
Instead of creating new bills and laws to protect lawbreakers, why not hold them accountable for their actions just as every regular citizen?
Hitler imposed similar “rights” for those who worked under his administration. Now Gov. Locke and Christine Gregoire feel their followers deserve the same privileges. I believe Gregoire would like these bills to go through due in part to the Linda David case where Gregoire’s office “forgot” to file necessary paperwork limiting the money awarded to Linda David for her case against the state. Gregoire blamed others for not “informing” her that certain motions needed to be filed to stop the process.
This is a blatant case of “taking care of their own” at the cost of our civil rights.
Gov. Locke, Christine Gregoire, instead of making new bills and laws, why don’t you own up to your mistakes and the mistakes of those under your supervision and make changes where changes are needed? Hire honest and competent individuals instead of weaseling your way out of trouble.
