I believe the school districts are being dishonest in leading voters to believe the rate per $1,000 on their property tax will be less if they vote for the requested school levies. Does anyone actually believe it is going to cost less next year to operate schools than it does now? They are being dishonest by using the McCleary decision as a marketing tool for votes.
Because of the McCleary decision, your state taxes will be going up and much of the money schools receive will be from the state rather than your local taxes. It’s just a transference of funding and because many people don’t pay attention, they will be voting for local levies thinking they will be paying less when in actuality, they will probably pay more. Renters, you pay too in higher housing costs.
Wake up people because you are being taken for fools.
