Steps to move forward a good thing

Well, it sure looks like gay marriage is here to stay. That is a wonderful thing. It doesn’t affect my life one way or another, and it isn’t the downfall of society. It also doesn’t ruin the sanctity of the institution of marriage. The real reason why the sanctity of the institution of marriage has been crumbling over the last few decades is the high divorce rate. Bottom line. Our society is advancing, moving forward, and that is outstanding.

Another example of society advancing is the legalization of marijuana. Lately, I have been reading a lot of letters that demonize the legalization of marijuana. Sorry, folks who are against it, but it is nowhere close to the downfall of our society like these individuals think. You want something that is the downfall of society? It is this current heroin epidemic in this county and across this country. I just do not think, at all, that you are going to see a high number of fatalities on the road because some people are smoking some pot and driving. Alcohol is the cause of most fatalities, and always will be. Maybe these people should focus their efforts the real problems in this state and country.
