Oh, boy! Thanks for the Dec. 8 article, “A bank that does things differently” (Pacific Crest).
Wow! No branches or buildings or brick and mortar, no messy jobs, or benefits, or face to face banking. No janitors, no maintenance jobs, no tellers, no tedious connections or conversation, no nothing. Just get your cash out of a machine, go online, use your “smart” (?) phone, your computer, and stay nice and sanitary, isolated, and smug all by your little ol’ self.
Whooeee! Hey, maybe we can even get our anti-depressant drugs online to combat the loneliness, alienation, and neurosis caused by all this wonderful sterilizing technology and dehumanization! Just think of it!
“Just machines that make big decisions, programmed by fellas of compassion and vision….What a wonderful world this will be, what a glorious time to be free….” (Donald Fagen, “IGY.”)
