I may be a Democrat by registered choice, but I have always voted for the best candidate for the office. Therefore, The Herald’s mixed endorsements of candidates do not surprise me, save for your choice of Sen. Val Stevens. The word I have from the little people, like myself, is that her contact and representation of us leaves much to be desired. A story you ran, and never followed up on, about her involvement with an ultra conservative group of (religious) legislators, left me wondering if there wasn’t something we should know about your own editorial board. And now your endorsement of her. I may not agree with all your choices, but this is one of the worst. But at least you took a stand!
