I am outraged at the sentencing of the man who shot his wife in the face (“Plea for long sentence: Instead judge gives 2-year term in woman’s shooting,” news story, Dec. 6). Judge Linda Krese was quite disappointing. Even allowing him to plead to third degree assault is an assault! But a two-year sentence is insulting to the people of this community. Aside from this latest despicable behavior, the man has felony history. He was already a convicted felon in possession of a .357 caliber handgun! Hello, what does that tell you?
Reading this in the paper makes me wonder what a person has to do to get any real time. Perhaps because the victim was on drugs made a difference. Maybe next time he will shoot someone who is clean and sober. Is that worth a few more years?
