From time to time I see letters in this forum complaining about the lack of service, choice or caring offered by their local cable companies. Well, do what I did about over four years ago and what millions of others have done, dump cable and get a small satellite TV dish. The picture and sound quality is comparable to a DVD, the channel selection far surpass what cable can offer and the cost is comparable. You can receive the local TV channels as well as hundreds of others.
Cable TV is in decline, they offer an ever increasingly poor product at an ever increasing cost.
The day I installed my dish and called the cable company to have the service discontinued was one of the most satisfying of my life. To paraphrase a line from the old African-American spiritual, “Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty, I’m free at last!”
