Stop throwing away your unwanted cats and kittens. Many of us who care see the daily evidence of these abandoned cats roaming the alleys and residential areas of our towns and cities. Many citizens don’t realize that it’s a crime, a Class B felony, to abuse, torture, poison, trap to kill, or deliberately neglect any animals, including cats.
Since Arlington tore down the animal shelter a few years ago and refuses to replace it, we have seen just this one town fill with hundreds of suffering, abandoned cats. Their litters are born in every despicable place imaginable, turning baby kittens into older feral cats, looking for a bite of food and sip of water. If you have female cats, have them neutered. Do the same for any male cats. For those who have no feelings regarding these throwaway cats, try going for even one week without food and water, and then weigh your opinion once more.
And remember, it is a crime to harm animals. The laws are on the Washington state books. In writing this I represent many concerned citizens in Snohomish County. Either neuter, feed and care for your animals or don’t have them at all.
