I am a voting taxpayer and a parent of children in the Marysville School District. I do not understand why the negotiation teams for the district and the teachers’ union or state mediator Vincent Helm think that meeting for a couple of hours every week is going to accomplish anything. Mr. Helm needs to be directing the negotiation teams to meet every day, if not around the clock, until a resolution is reached. I can’t help but see these delays as some sort of tactic designed to incite anger in the students’ parents. Congratulations! The tactic was successful. Now, stop stalling and do your jobs – negotiate a settlement.
