I have so many concerns. We need consumer protections and air traffic controllers. We need a healthy planet supported by agencies like NOAA. We need an inclusive society that respects everyone no matter their gender identity, race, or country of origin.
We need to recognize the sovereignty of Indigenous peoples and the richness of our immigrant-based culture and economy and therefore need to have a pathway to citizenship and fair treatment of asylum seekers, refugees and undocumented immigrants. We need safe and healthy workplaces supported by OSHA.
We need to prevent the spread of Ebola and HIV and other infectious diseases world-wide. We need to continue to give foreign aid for the sake of the innocents in other countries but also for our country’s safety and security. We do not need to slash funding for scientific/medical research or ban the CDC and other reputable organizations from sharing up to date, life-saving information.
We do not need to take over foreign countries such as Panama, Greenland or Gaza. We definitely do not need to be ruled by billionaires or to allow them to have access to our personal data or to give them unfettered access to security information.
The list goes on and on. We all need to speak out and do everything we can and encourage our elected officials to do everything they can to stop President Trump’s dangerous, ill-advised, inhumane and, in many cases, illegal actions and decrees that are making us all much less safe, less free and less American.
